March 21, 2012
I figured I would share it with all of you Scott Isbell fans. It came directly from
http://www.azteenmagazine.com/band-reviews.php?article=825
"One part Michael Jackson and one part Justin Bieber, Scott Isbell has an appeal that will reach every age group. Obviously talented from a young age, Scott appeared on show USA’s Most Talented Kids for his singing at the age of 12. Since then, he has opened up for artists such as Brand Bubian and Wu-Tang Management. He released his first song on iTunes and Amazon called “The One” under Island Def Jam Distribution. He has already performed at venues including The MGM Grand, Disney World, Hard Rock, and Foxwoods Resort and Casino. However, this talented teen’s skills are not limited to music; Scott also has a passion for acting. Currently working on the show Aquakids, Scott hopes to enter the world of film in the future. Though still in his incipient stages of fame, Scott Isbell’s soulful voice and pop-star looks—and rapidly growing fan base—will definitely make his a household name in the future.

20 Questions with Scott Isbell:

Q: Do you write your own music?
A: I write all of my own lyrics. I have my own producers who create the beats and instrumentals for me. I tell them what I am looking for and I will often times create a plan or idea for them. The art of creating beats is a complete profession on its own.

Q: What’s your favorite band/artist?
A: Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley, Ne-Yo, Bruno Mars, Susan Tedeschi, and Kid Rock are my favorite artists. My fav band is Gov’t Mule.

Q: Where do you get the inspiration for your songs?
A: I get the inspiration from real life experiences and also by observing the world around me. If you take a step back and watch the world, there is so much to take in and learn from.

Q: What collaborative work have you done with other artists?
A: I have opened up for legendary Hip Hop group Brand Nubian- Lord Jamar. I have done concerts with the rap pioneers Wu-Tang Management. I am currently in the process of also doing some collaboration work with some incredible artists. For a male artist I would like to do a collab song with I’d have to say Bruno Mars, Mike Posner, and Brian McKnight. They all are incredible. Oh, I would love to do a song with Ne-Yo, as well. For female, I’d say Jennifer Lopez—her voice is electrifying.

Q: Describe your experience working with Aqua Kids.
A: Aqua Kids has been incredible. To be on the cast of a show that has won 2 Emmy
Awards is a truly honor for me, and it really has helped me launch my acting career. I also have gotten to learn a ton about the ocean and how kids can help save our wildlife. One of my favorite parts of being on the show is the connections and life long friendships I have made with the other cast members. When you are part of a TV show or a movie, you get really close to the cast.

Q: As you enter the world of film, what movies/types of movies would you like to be in?
A: Comedies- especially Disney type movies. Someday I would love to be in a movie with Will Ferrell and Adam Sandler. They both are incredible actors and true pioneers in their field.

Q: What does your average day touring look like?
A: I honestly have to wake up pretty early, and start warming up my voice right away. I go through a lot of warm up exercises, and I also run through my entire set a couple of times usually. I am sure never to over do it, however, as you want to save your voice for the concert. When I get to the venue location, I will spend time with my fans and sign autographs. They are the reason where I am today. Before the show starts, I like to spend a little time alone and get my head into it.

Q: How have you balanced your schoolwork with your professional life?
A: I luckily have been able to manage my schoolwork with my professional life. I have done this by working extremely hard during school and using all of my free periods to get as much work done as possible. School obviously comes first, and I am fortunate enough to have been able to get great grades and also focus a ton of my singing and acting career. It is all about time management. I have made a ton of sacrifices, and I have given up a ton of my social life. It is all worth it though, as I am closer to living my dream.

Q: What is your favorite part of your job?
A: My favorite part is being able to share my music with the world and make others happy. I also love being able to meet some incredible people, and the idea of getting to know famous people that I never thought I would become friends with. It is really so surreal. Getting to share my music with the world and meet so many incredible people. I honestly have met some people that I never would have EVER thought I would be friends with—it is so surreal to me that I am starting to get to work with some incredible professionals. Some I have idolized on TV for a while too! Every day, this all amazes me. I am so appreciative of it all.

Q: How would you say your fan base relates to that of Justin Bieber?
A: Justin is an incredible individual and I have a tremendous amount of respect for him. I am so inspired by the progress Scooter Braun and he have made in such a short period of time. I think any professional artist would say that they have the best fans in the world, because it is honestly true. NONE of us would be where we are today without our fans. There is so entertainment business without the fans. I believe it is important for singers and actors to remember that and not get caught up in their own ego. To make it to the top, this business is a brutal and tough thing to be involved with, but my fans are what keep me going. I love them all so much.

Q: Describe your recording/studio process?
A: I have recorded in various professional recording studios and it has been an awesome experience. I do, however, have my own studio in my room, and it has awesome equipment in it, and I can literally record and master an entire album right from the walls of my bedroom. I do all of the recording process on my own, and I usually have help with some incredible producers for the mastering process and finalizing it all. On my song, The One, which is available on iTunes and Amazon worldwide, I spent almost three and a half weeks recording that one track! I am very much a perfectionist.

Q: What has been your favorite gig so far?
A: Performing at the MGM Grand. Carrie Underwood had performed on that same stage a few nights before, so I was so honored to be able to be on the same stage as someone as incredible as that.

Q: How has your young age been a detriment to trying to make it in the music and film industry? Has it been a benefit in any way?
A: Being young definitely can be hard in this business. There are a lot of people out there who want to take advantage of a young artist, and they will do anything they can to make a quick buck. I definitely have been the under dog in the business before, and I have proven to others what I can do. I think every artist experiences bumps in the road throughout their career, and it is those that keep going and not letting it get to them that make it to the top. One of my favorite new singers, Bruno Mars, did not see success overnight. He had to work extremely hard, and he proved to everyone what he is capable of. He is so incredible. Yet, being young can be a good thing as well. There are definitely a great deal of acting roles available for kids, and a lot of music execs I have worked with love the young spunk and energy I always have. I am a self-starter. I booked all of my own professional acting roles for TV and film and also a music video without being signed to any agency. I now am signed with an awesome booking agency for both my singing and acting career.

Q: Which are you more passionate about—singing or acting?
A: I am extremely passionate about both. I definitely have been singing for longer, but I have had a lot of experience in acting as well. I feel it is important to be a well-rounded person, and I love to get acting roles and of course singing live is something that is an incredible experience.

Q: Where do you see your career going in the future?
A: I hope that I sign to a major label and am able to tour the country and the world and share my music with others. It has always been my dream to be signed to a major label. I also would love to act in a ton of movies as well. I want to be like Jennifer Lopez, who is an incredible vocalist and also an outstanding actress. I do not feel you have to choose one over the other. Different opportunities can come at any time.

Q: How would you describe your sound?
A: I am constantly told that I sound very similar to Michael Jackson. I have created my own style which mixes the new modern pop with a little bit of old school R&B/ Pop into it. I just sing what comes from my heart.

Q: What message would you want send to your fans?
A: Thank-you SO MUCH for everything and all of your support so far! I would not be where I am today without you all, and I am forever grateful. THIS IS OUR JOURNEY, not just mine. I cannot do it without you guys. I want you to see my standing on stage at the Grammys someday, and have that same feeling of accomplishment because we did this together. I promise you all, I will never give up on my dreams, and I hope you will always believe in me and keep me going. When I get overwhelmed by having three or four interviews in one week for magazine and Internet articles, and then a few radio interviews, it is my fans who keep me going. On top of that, I have my schoolwork and hockey, and then concerts as well. You all keep me going. They see the same end goal as I do.

Q: As a young artist, what role does your family play when you tour and are working?
A: My family is extremely supportive of me, and they also are there for me if I ever get overwhelmed. Things in this business can come really quickly and other times they may take time to happen. My family definitely helps me get through all of that. I also love seeing them at my concerts, and I was so proud and excited when I got to bring my little sister into my dressing room at the MGM Grand and say: “This is my room haha. She also loved the food table as well.” My mom also reminds me when I need to get a haircut before a show, and she books those appointments for me.

Q: What do you look for in a girl?
A: Girls have to be kind and funny. They do not have to be perfect at all. I love a girl with a nice smile and one who likes to have fun but also just likes to talk and chill out. I like to be with girls who I feel like can be my best friend as well as my girlfriend.

Q: Favorite food?
A: Pizza- I can literally eat it every day for breakfast lunch and dinner. And I love to eat cold pizza!"

New schedule

March 19, 2012
I have 3rd lunch now. I hope this will be better. I hated 2nd lunch because it was way to loud and stuff. Also it messed with my bath room schedule. I have bladder issues and I don't like to leave class so I go before class or in like the first 10 minutes of a class so I don't miss that much of the class. I like 3rd lunch now. :) I hope it doesn't mess up my bathroom schedule though. You see 7th period we can't use the bathroom and lunch is 30 minutes before 6th period. Also my twitter schedule has changed. I have been getting so busy lately With homework and stuff and found out what my sleeping issue was it was that I was online until I went to bed so I have to be offline at 9 because it is a hour before I go to bed. I need to let my brain rest. Also here's a bit of my day when I get home for the next 5 weeks
1:50-2:00- Arrive home.
2:05-2:30 - Rest, eat snack and watch t.v.
2:30-3:00- Work on home work.
3:30-5:00- Go to dentist.
5:30-6:15- Work on more homework.
6:15-7:00- Take shower

R.I.P

December 9, 2011
Yesturday my Uncle died. I just wanted to post a blog saying that he will never be forgotten and we will always have a place in our heart for him. He is in a much better place now which is good because when he was alive he suffered alot. I just wish that he could have stayed alive until christmas. I and my family will try our best to still have a good christmas and smile everyday for him, my grandma and grandpa. I love and miss the 3 of them and wish they were still alive and with me, But here's the thing now they can be with us everyday watching over us. That's the way I see it. It's hard but With time it will get easier.

update

December 7, 2011
Update about Scott- He has been working on new songs and acting work. He has been working with many people. He has not been replying to His fans because he has been so busy. I know some of you feel ignored so I just wanted to let you all know that he is not ignoring you. That's all I have to update ab out him for now because he hasn't replyed to me yet... So to  the haters who spread the rumor that he's talking to me and ignoring everyone else you're totally wrong, He has just been super busy. =)

Update about me- My senior year is going good so far it could be better but it also could be alot worse. In the beginning Of senior year I broke my right wrist going roller skating and klater on after a splint, A baby blue cast, A green cast and months of waiting, I had to go in for sergery, We wanted to wait because we wanted to make sure I needed it because what they were going to do is perminent. It turns out that I needed surgery So now I have a plate in my wrist and a huge scar. The First question I asked before sergery was can I keep my best friends bracelet on? And they said yes. So I was happy. Then after sergery my first question was So when Can I go roller skating again? They laughed and said Not for a while hun if at all. I have been In physical therapy for months. I asked them again When I can go roller skating again and they said that it would be to dangerous and that I should quit but as all of my friends and family know I am hard headed and will fight with you until I get my way. (Only when it comes to skating I'm not a diva lol.) So then they said that I would have to wear a wrist guard and it's up to my dad. So I asked my dad and he said I will be able to go to the skating party for new years. I can't wait. But the bad news is When I get back on skate I have to go slow I can't just rush into where I left off before my injury. I look at it as good and bad news. Bad because I am going to want to do races, Four corners and fast skates right away but I wont be allowed to.But good news because It will keep me safe and keep the haters from hurting me. So haters keep Hating just remember I'm returning soon and you will never get rid of me. ;)

About Me

I am 17 years old. My birthday is on July 10th. I love making websites. I am Scott Isbell's #1 fan. (That's not family) I have been a fan since 2010. I love helping his fans get noticed by him but hate when people only like me because I know Him. Like I love when people like me for me and not who I know and stuff. I am nice to everyone. I am normally shy in person but I try not to be and try to talk to people. People normally break the ice by asking how Scott is doing and stuff. I love when I hear of Haters of his or people who do not know of him becomming fans. I love roller skating it is my passion. I have had surgery on my right wrist and have broken my bones many times roller skating but I still go skating. I'm kinda addicted to it because I started at such a young age. But now with my metal plate in my wrist I can't speed skate anymore and I have to wear a wrist guard. I love basically any sport. I love Basketball, soccor, foot ball (Kinda lol) , Base ball (Not that good at it though) and especially kick ball. I am really good at kickball. I love twitter. It is my way of connecting With Scott Isbell fans, Scott's haters and just people in general. I love to keep people updated on everything Isbell but like if he asks me to keep certain things private I do because he is my friend and I respect him. :) Anything else you want to know? Tweet me @IsbellJourney :)
